The University of Nairobi received the prestigious Responsible Investment Global Certification Award on April 3rd, 2023, for its outstanding contributions towards the social-economic transformation of Kenya and East Africa. This recognition is a testament to the university's unwavering commitment to promoting international best practices and standards, such as respecting workers' rights, paying taxes, offering high-quality products and services, protecting the environment, supporting productive corporate social responsibility, and providing employment opportunities.

Furthermore, the university was also recognized as the best public university in Kenya during the Patriotism for Youth and Investment Symposium held at Kololo National Ceremonial Ground on December 3rd, 2022. This accolade firmly places the university amongst the top fifteen investments in Kenya and showcases its exemplary efforts in providing quality education and promoting social-economic growth in the region.

Public Opinions, a Ugandan-based organization committed to deepening the East Africa Integration Agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through public awareness, information dissemination, training and mentorship, networking, and awarding best-performing institutions and leaders, hosted a significant event on December 3rd, 2023. The event saw the presence of His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda, who was recognized as the East African Peace and Development Champion by Public Opinions. Additionally, His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto was declared the East Africa Investment Champion in absentia.
